The dark side…

I love to be creative, and I love to see what different things come out of simply experimenting. The image above is just such an experimentation … could I do it? Is it cool?

I like it … but I don’t think Amanda did. When you see an old bloodied print of a girl laying on 40 pounds of razors (which she actually was, by the way … that wasn’t photoshopped — and it’s very cool in high-resolution) … I think you’ve got to wonder what the story is. These pix tell a story that I clearly have in my head … and I have to wonder, is your story the same?

But this experimenting is also part of a broad soul-searching that I’m going through. What is my photographic style? What was I meant to be doing, that I love, that will make my images truly great instead of just good or really good? What is that, and why haven’t I found it?

I’m not terribly worried about it, since I’ve only been seriously into photography for about 2-1/2 years … but it’s definitely big on my mind lately.
