Had a fun shoot with Jody this weekend. Fortunately, the artist-slash-recycler-slash-junkyard-owner next door was very cool, and allowed us to shoot in his recycling plant, for some great images.

There’s a tiny bit of flesh on this image, so I put it after the jump. Click for more.

I just love the light on her, and the matching blues on either side, and the reflections on the boots, and the ways her eyes stand out, and the glow on her hair (side and front) … oh, and the 7-Up cup on the lamp. This is the stuff that makes me love an image, besides (obviously) the basic composition and subject.

This I also like … more for its simplicity than anything, but there’s a cool feel and vibe to it. I guess I like it for completely different reasons than the first picture. I like the similarities and contrasts between her hair and the little bit of rust you can see, and the softness of her and hardness of the edge … and the bit of contemplative, somewhat sad emotional feel to it.

And finally … this I like because of the 70’s cop feel … but mostly because it’s a self-portrait, and you can see my loft (I know, I need to unpack still!!) in the background. The width restriction on the blog really kills this one … it’s 550 pixels wide here, is soooo much better at 1200 … I should link to it, but I have lots to do and am too lazy. Enjoy anyway!

  1. Hey Jason, remember me? I was doing a Google search for people I knew in college, and I wondered what happened to you. So hey, shoot me an email–we can catch up! I have a photo of you from the Ren faire.
