Reno, Nevada
So, I’m up in good old Reno, NV right now. I don’t know where to start, because everything about this trip is pretty random. My grandmother quite literally scalped herself (40 stitches to her head from a fall) right before I arrived … my grandfather (who was quite lucid last time I was up here) doesn’t realize that he’s moved, and asks over and over and over and over and over again when he can go home … yet we still somehow made it out to sushi and spending $12 on the penny slot machines together. It’s good and sad, all mixed in together. That, and a lot of moving stuff around their new house to help them get settled in.
Oh, and today Diane, of the Coors Light Twins (see www.twinship.tv) and I exchanged several emails regarding some of my friends & clients, the Karshner Triplets. She also politely rebuffed my offer of photos. Oh well.
Anyway, tomorrow is a “big day.” We get to try and convince my grandfather to go back to the old house tomorrow … even though that’s the only thing he wants to do, he wants to go down alone. Since he shouldn’t be driving — and since his car keys and license are mysteriously “lost” — we need him to go with us, but he wants to drive. It’s this big, circular, frustrating-yet-sad argument all day. When he’s not telling us that he’s going alone, he’s spending several hours looking through the drawers in his room for the keys. Very sad.
Anyway … my phone doesn’t work so well up here, so I haven’t been making many calls nor checking voicemail. Hopefully I’ll get some better access tomorrow, but probably not until Monday.
PS: It was 37 degrees last night …. brrrrr!
