Sept 7th
Okay … still “on assignment” [out of town]. Yet another
thunderstorm today, but not as interesting as a few days back. I did,
however, get a couple of tours which were fantastic.
The “castle” is a gigantic film studio. I don’t have time to go
into it, but we walked across the grid of steel plates that are about
100 feet above all of the sets … what a trip. Imagine looking down
100 feet, yet being able to walk. It was exhilarating … my body
didn’t want to step out into nothingness … I really had to force
each step. Cool.
Tonight I saw the printshop and CD-replication areas. The
organizational abilities here are incredible, and the facility was
what most organizations dream about: ultra-clean and efficient.
I even got a “sneak” peek of where the E-Meter’s are made.
(Although I don’t think it’s a “sneak” if it’s not really secret.)
It’s not like I could see anything interesting anyway, but hey … at
least I can say “I saw the place where…” someday, right?
In case you’re wondering why I -still- haven’t called you back,
and when I might … well, maybe sometime next week? It looks like
the assignment will be over around Tuesday or so, and then I head out
to Reno to help my grandparents move.
