El Salvador

I’m not sure where to begin. In about 20 minutes, I have a formal
audience with Madam Vice President de Escobar of El Salvador. I
shouldn’t be nervous — I generally feel comfortable in all
situations — but this is different. I haven’t been able to sleep
much, and I’m feeling anxious … a rather unusual feeling. Getting
here was easy … … 4.5 hours in First Class (thanks,
Carlos, for the upgrade!) and we’re here. Unfortunately, the flight
was from 2 am until 7:30 am (time change), so I slept maybe 2 hours
last night. Thankfully we got an hour nap before getting ready …
and now I’m just waiting to meet with the “Protocol People” to hear
about the formalities of the meeting. Okay … I have questions to
ask the officials … I gotta go. Wish me luck.
