Sunday AM, Granda a Sevilla

I think it’s now Sunday morning. We’re clickety-clakkety rolling
through the Andalusian heartland, surrounded by rolling hills, billions
of yellow wildflowers, and olive tree after olive tree … oh, and mom
— you’d love the old, decrepit farm houses everywhere, too.

Oh — totally off the subject — the website for our restaurant last
night might have pictures. Go to if you’re
curious, and tell me how it is.

This morning it was very difficult to get out of bed. I did, though,
and after another great breakfast in our fantastic hotel (Google Hotel
Alhambra Palace for pix), the Mark’s went into town. I didn’t have the
energy to go. I went to the lobby, and with my now excellent Spanish
(okay, not excellent, but I can get by very well … and most of the
people here do NOT speak English) I booked our hotel in Seville. I have
no idea what it looks like, but you can Google “Casas de Juderia
Sevilla” and I’m sure you’ll find it. It should be really cool … I’m

Then I went for a walk in the huge park by our hotel. The park
surrounds the Alhambra that we went to yesterday, and was very lush and
very green. Somehow I stumbled upon a gate, and without knowing it, I
accidentally ended up INSIDE the Alhambra again … without a ticket!
There was almost NO ONE there (compared to 1000’s during our official
tour), and I took a bunch of photos that are good candidates for the
BAX Calendar page that I’m shooting for. I called Shawna while I was
walking there, but it was about 12:30 am in the US, so somehow I missed

We had a train to catch, and now here we are … speeding through
Spain, typing on my computer, and enjoying the spectacular scenery.
Wish you were here!
